Why is water not beading on grout lines after the grout has been sealed?

Q. The unsanded grout used for our shower states it’s not necessary to seal grout. However, I decided to but notice the grout does not bead off the grout joints as I feel it should, even after 2 coats.

A. You may be using a poor quality sealer. It is possible that you may not have applied enough sealer, but this is not probably since you stated you applied two coats. A professional stone and tile restoration contractor can properly apply a high quality sealer. If you do not already have a PRO, contact us. We may have a vetted contractor in your area.
